A 3-star experience

Beğenilen: 1) The location of the hotel is convenient. It is close to Taksim square and Istiklal street, which is of course a major tourist attraction with many shops and restaurants. From Taksim square, you can take buses to anywhere you want. If you walk towards the east, you can also get to the Kabataş railway station in less than 10 minutes, which again can take you to Sultanahmet in less than 20 minutes. However, beware that this eastern path involves going down hundreds of steps, which is not easy for older people. 2) The amenities were good. We had a 2-bedroom apartment, and each room had its own A/C unit. Our suite also had a kitchenette and a washing machine, which was very convenient (there are also two dryers in the basement, which you can use free of charge). There are many stores in the area (including a Carrefour) so you can buy what you need to stock up the fridge and cook meals. 3) Of the three concierge staff persons we met, two (including the manager) were very helpful and respectful. The third one was less so. The lady who prepared the breakfast was also very nice.

Beğenilmeyen: This is really a 3-star hotel, despite being listed as a 4-star one. As a result, the rooms aren't that well kept. 1) There was a near-constant bad smell in the bathroom, which could also take over the room if you didn't close the bathroom door. 2) Our bathroom fan sometimes made a screeching sound. 3) The bed had a very soft spring mattress and was squeaky, which disrupted my wife's sleep. 4) Our sofa had many stains on it. 5) In both rooms the closet doors wouldn't open easily because they rubbed against the drawers underneath them, so you had to slightly push the doors up to open them. 6) The breakfast was okay but it was not a buffet, nor were we offered a wide selection of options. 7) The alleys in which the hotel is located are very steep and somewhat dirty, so it's not a pleasant experience whether you get there with a car or on foot.
